KHEER- THE TRADITIONAL INDIAN DESSERT

Kheer, a rice pudding is the quintessential Indian sweet dish that every Indian grows up eating. This creamy and aromatic dessert will be usually seen being cooked during some religious or special days. It’s a dessert made of Indian White Basmati Rice and is liked by one and all! 

Made with different flavourful and aromatic ingredients, kheer is the most common dessert in an Indian household. 

Every important day in India is marked with the consumption of this delicious dessert and today we bring you its authentic recipe to try at your homes and indulge in India’s favourite dessert! 

WHAT YOU NEED 

HOW TO MAKE 

  • Rinse the basmati rice and soak for 15-20 mins. 

  • Pour water into a large pot. 

  • Add milk and bring to a boil and keep stirring. 

  • Add drained rice and continue to cook on medium flame. 

  • Add the sugar and stir again. 

  • Add cardamom powder and nuts and cook for 5 mins. 

  • Turn off when kheer reaches the desired consistency. 

  • Garnish with saffron and nuts and serve.
