1 litre whole milk – 4 cups
½ tsp cardamom powder
1 pinch saffron strands
1 tbsp chopped almonds
1 tbsp chopped cashews
1 tbsp chopped unsalted pistachios
1 tbsp golden raisins
Rinse the basmati rice and soak for 15-20 mins.
Pour water into a large pot.
Add milk and bring to a boil and keep stirring.
Add drained rice and continue to cook on medium flame.
Add the sugar and stir again.
Add cardamom powder and nuts and cook for 5 mins.
Turn off when kheer reaches the desired consistency.
Garnish with saffron and nuts and serve.
